Our core expertise is within microbiology and the adaptation of microbial colour to biosensors and biomaterials.
Our laboratories (ML1 and ML2) within the iLab of the Hogeschool Utrecht have access to bioinformatics, fabrication and imaging with strong scientific and commercial partners.
We have an extensive collection of structural coloured microorganisms, the largest in the world, including mutants and genetically engineered strains.
We supply images and movies to designers and samples of biomaterials to materials collections.
